Reupholstery
Sofas, lounge suites, armchairs, dining chairs and stools brought back to life in the fabric of your choosing. The frame you already love, dressed new.

Upholstery & restoration · Glen Eden, Auckland
A father-and-son workshop in West Auckland, reupholstering and restoring the pieces you don't want to part with. Old frames, new life, finished by hand.
The workshop
Suite As is a small Glen Eden workshop run as a father-and-son partnership. Between them, Vince and Gene strip a piece back, rebuild what needs rebuilding, and dress it in a fabric chosen to suit how you actually live with it.
We work on everything from torn dining chairs and tired roadside finds to elaborate three-piece suites and antique French frames. The brief is always the same: keep the piece you love, and make it look better than the day you got it.
"I was looking for impeccable craftmanship and I got it."

What we do
Whatever shape it's in, bring it to the bench. Here's the work that comes through the Glen Eden workshop most.
Sofas, lounge suites, armchairs, dining chairs and stools brought back to life in the fabric of your choosing. The frame you already love, dressed new.
Antique and heirloom pieces rebuilt with care, from French frames to old roadside finds. Tired becomes treasured, the way it was meant to be.
Bespoke cushions and made-to-order furniture, built to your measurements and finished to last. One of a kind, made for your room.
Booth seating, banquettes and contract furniture refreshed for cafes, venues and offices. Hard-wearing finishes that keep looking the part.
Not sure where to start? We show you fabrics and let you take samples home, so you can live with a colour before you commit to it.
Tell us about the piece and we'll talk you through the options, fabrics and a fair price.

A few recent jobs, shot in the workshop. Every one started as something its owner wasn't ready to give up on.

In their words
"Vince did an amazing job on my old vinyl torn dining chairs. He replaced the vinyl with a gorgeous grey fabric which looked even better than the vinyl when I bought the chairs. I would highly recommend."
"Vince dropped the chairs off today and we are delighted! He showed me fabrics and let me take them home which was a great help. Turnaround was quick and the completed job is beautifully finished. Our roadside score has been given a new lease on life and we couldn't be happier. Lovely people to deal with and highly recommended."
"We were looking for a team who could reinvent our old pieces and without doubt Suite As, craftsman Vince and Gene, rejuvenated both foot stool and slipper chair. We are delighted. The quality speaks for itself."
"Highly recommended. Suite As took on the challenging task of re-covering the elaborate three piece lounge suite that we wanted to keep and they did a superb job for a very reasonable price."
"I was looking for impeccable craftmanship and I got it! The project was a full transformation of a 20 year old couch with a new cover. The result is amazing. I highly recommend this company."

A note from the builder
I am Si from ProperSites. I build a real, working site for a business before I ever pitch it, so what you are looking at is the actual thing, made for Suite As Upholsterers, not a template with your name dropped in or a quote for something that does not exist yet.
The site is yours to keep. It is was $997 $697 to make it live on your own domain, then $49 a month just keeps it hosted and looked after. Month to month, never a lock-in, and if you ever leave you take the site with you. Most builders are the opposite: stop paying and your site disappears. Not here.
